Think of the logo as just the face of your brand; it’s the element of immediate recognition. However, a logo alone isn’t enough. The visual identity is the complete system that ensures your brand remains consistent across every touchpoint, such as your website, social media, packaging. It includes the color palette, typography, imagery style, and tone of voice, all of which work together to communicate your company’s personality.
Branding is the comprehensive process of managing a brand. It defines its essence, values, purpose and market positioning — shaping the perception it creates in the minds of the audience. The visual identity is the tangible expression of that strategy, translating it into visual elements such as a logo, color palette, typography and imagery. This is why I focus on visual identity, because it is the materialization of the brand’s core concept. I intentionally avoid using the term ‘branding’ to prevent the common confusion between the two.
Timelines vary significantly depending on the project’s complexity and scope. On average, a visual identity project takes 15 to 20 business days. The start date depends on my schedule, so we may be able to start immediately or in a few weeks. It’s important to note that the client’s speed in providing feedback and approvals is crucial to staying on schedule. I do not usually accept urgent projects with less than two weeks for development and presentation, as I need this time to conduct all the necessary research and brand conceptualization.
To ensure the final design perfectly aligns with your vision, the quote includes two rounds of revisions: one for major changes and a second for minor adjustments. Any further revisions that significantly change the project’s original scope may be billed separately. We start with a detailed questionnaire (the briefing) to make sure we’re on the same page, which is why two rounds of refinement are almost always enough to get it right!
Once the final design is approved and the files have been delivered, the project is considered complete. Any requests for changes or the development of new features will be treated as a new project and billed separately. To avoid extra costs, it’s best to ensure all revisions are requested and finalized during the refinement stage.
You will receive a complete set of files, including vector formats (.AI, .EPS, .SVG) for print and high-resolution bitmap formats (.JPG, .PNG) for digital use. I also provide the font files, giving you full autonomy for future updates or to work with other suppliers. However, I do not deliver the editable source files themselves. This policy is in place to protect the visual consistency and quality standards established for your brand.
Once the project is complete and the final payment has been made, the total transfer of copyright and usage rights for the creation is transferred to the client. This means you will have complete and exclusive ownership of the final design and can use it freely for commercial purposes. manucomdesign only reserves the right to display the project in its portfolio.
Registering the trademark is the client’s sole responsibility. This legal and administrative process should be managed directly by you, the brand owner, or by a legal professional specializing in intellectual property. I can recommend specialized law firms for trademark registration so that you have all the necessary support in this crucial process of protecting your business.
The brand guidelines document includes: all logo variations (signatures), the complete color palette (with codes for HEX, RGB, CMYK and Pantone), visual inspiration (moodboard), typography, rules for logo scaling and minimum sizes, and clear instructions on incorrect usage (what not to do). It also provides mockups and suggestions for brand application. This is useful for you to use independently, as well as to share with a future designer/web developer who works with your brand.
My visual identity services do not include photography, printing services (like business cards or packaging) or website/landing page programming. My focus is on the design, while implementation (like coding or printing) is handled separately. However, these additional services can be provided by me later under a separate proposal.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to book your spot in my schedule and begin the project. The remaining 50% is due upon project completion, before the final files are delivered.
The 50% initial deposit is non-refundable. This payment secures your project in my schedule and covers the initial work, guaranteeing that I can dedicate the required time to your project. A cancellation would result in an open slot that could have been offered to another client. The only exception is if I must cancel the project for personal or health reasons, in which case the deposit will be fully refunded.
